I’ve continued to test AI Canvas and AI Assistant within Cloud Control and I have found some very helpful features and prompts.

The next examples are looking at different prompts and information we can pull from our Nexus Dashboard within Cloud Control using natural language. They cover node health, licensing and security vulnerabilities with patch recommendations.

Nexus Dashboard Node Health

To start with I have logged into Cloud Control and moved into my Nexus Dashboard product. Here i’ve selected the AI Assistant option to probe the health of my Nexus Dashboard nodes.

The prompt: “Are all the nodes in my Nexus Dashboard clusters healthy?”

The response immediately provides an in-depth view of the Node services running. Straight away we can see a red “unhealthy” service. Disk io is showing an issue. Next I ask the AI Assistant why this is ocurring

The prompt: “Can you tell me why Disk io is unhealthy”

This is followed up by the following extensive response

The response summary confirms that this is in fact a false positive, there are no physical disk failures or actual I/O errors but a large number of drives are in JBOD (unconfigured) mode.

This investigation took no more than two minutes whilst using natural language and without even logging into Nexus Dashboard.

This to me shows how powerful this tool is, and we’ve only just started.

Licensing

Now we’re going to leverage a licensing check across my estate. This is incredibly useful in the real world when maintaining an estate with thousands of devices and we haven’t even began to look at vulnerabilities and patching. We also aren’t using the agentic agents which will be on offer!

The prompt: “What licensing do I have in place on Nexus Dashboard?”

The following in-depth response confirms license usage and per-switch license agreements. It confirms all licenses are currently in “Honor” state and have expired as I have no smart licensing in place currently!

Also a nice widget can be added to our canvas again showing the state of our licensing which includes expiry dates!

Security Vulnerabilities

After writing about the licensing check capability and mentioning I hadn’t yet looked at vulnerabilities or patching I thought I should test it.

The prompt: “Can you confirm vulnerabilities in place on my Nexus Dashboard Fabrics and recommend any patches?”.

Again, what an incredible time saving tool to help teams maintain the security of their networks.
